Abstract

In this webinar we will look at the causes of recent changes in university students' work patterns, focusing on the role played by the increasing costs of university education. To examine the factors affecting students' work, we use data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS), from 1979 to 2011, a panel survey of around 54,000 Canadian households, containing details on individuals' labour force status, job characteristics, some demographic characteristics, and formal education activity for each individual over the age of 15.
