New pilot in the RDCs: call for proposals

As part of a new pilot project in the RDCs, Statistics Canada invites research proposals to use the University and College Academic Staff System (UCASS) data base for 1970 to 2010. The UCASS collects data on a wide range of socioeconomic characteristics that provide a detailed portrait of full-time university academic staff in Canada. The pilot project aims to evaluate and improve confidentiality vetting rules and the documentation for researchers. Proposals are to be submitted by April 13. Read the call for all details.

New data set now available

The Survey of Household Spending - 2015 is now available in the RDCs. This survey primarily collects detailed information on household expenditures. It also collects information about the annual income of household members (from personal income tax data), demographic characteristics of the household, certain dwelling characteristics (e.g., type, age and tenure) and certain information on household equipment (e.g., electronics and communications equipment).

Pilot project with business data: call for proposals

As part of a new pilot project in the RDCs, Statistics Canada is inviting research proposals to use the T2-Longitudinal Employment Analysis Program (LEAP). The T2-LEAP is an enterprise-level database that contains key information on firm entry and exit, demographics, finances, and performance. This dataset has been used to study to study issues such as employment and business dynamics, industry turnover, productivity growth, high-growth firms, and firm financing, survival and performance. Proposals will be accepted and evaluated on an ongoing basis until April 30. Read the call for proposals for all details.
