CRDCN sessions at CEA meeting

The PowerPoint presentations from the two CRDCN sessions on the longitudinal analysis of health issues and on immigrants and the labour market organized as part of the Canadian Economics Association’s annual meeting are now available. You can also consult the presentations of colleagues using linked census and administrative data files to examine health inequalities over the life course in a panel recently organized by the Population Change and Lifecourse cluster.

Call for papers

The Quebec Interuniversity Centre for Social Statistics (QICSS) is inviting submissions to its international conference on Social policy and health inequalities: An international perspective which will take place in Montreal in May 2014. The deadline to submit an abstract is September 20.

Call for proposals: biobank of the CHMS

Statistics Canada is inviting researchers to apply for access to blood, urine and DNA samples from the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) for use in health studies. The biospecimens are available to any Canadian researcher that completes a review process and would benefit from this national population survey of about 5,600 participants per collection cycle. Proposals must be submitted by June 30 by completing the application form. Visit the CHMS biobank website for more information.
