CCHS-IMDB (Canadian Community Health Survey linked to the Longitudinal Immigration Database)

Statistics Canada and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are pleased to announce the release of a linked data set that brings together data from both organizations.
These linked data provide information on the health, social and economic outcomes of immigrants in different immigration classes and categories. They will also allow researchers to study the health/social and economic outcomes of immigrants in the areas of newcomer settlement, resettlement and integration.
As part of its record linkage activities, Statistics Canada linked the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) with the Longitudinal Immigrant Database (IMDB). IRCC is collaborating with Statistics Canada to make the IMDB and the linked data available in the Research Data Centers.
The linking of Statistics Canada health survey data with administrative data on immigrants creates a valuable dataset that can provide answers to important research questions that cannot be found in either survey or administrative data alone.
