Passing of Victor Thiessen

It is with much sadness that we have learnt the sudden death of Victor Thiessen, who passed away on February 6. Emeritus Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Dalhousie University, Victor has had a distinguished academic career as teacher, researcher and administrator. As the Academic Director of the Atlantic Research Data Centre (ARDC) for almost a decade, from 2004 to 2013, he has been instrumental in the development of the CRDCN not only in the Maritimes, but across the country. We owe him a debt of thanks for his unrelenting support, even after his retirement. Our deepest condolences to his families and friends, from the whole team at the CRDCN and colleagues in the RDCs. A celebration of his life will be announced and held at a later date.
