Renewed funding for the Network

We are pleased to announce that SSHRC and CIHR have renewed their financial support to the Network until 2021 by awarding a directed grant of $14.5M. The announcement was made this morning in Saguenay by the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Minister of National Revenue. Read the news release.

Knowledge synthesis funding opportunities

In support of its continued engagement and investment in Aboriginal research and talent, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) offers a Knowledge Synthesis Grants funding opportunity to support the production of knowledge syntheses and scoping reviews that will contribute to the use of synthesized evidence and best practices in decision-making and practice on Aboriginal issues. These grants will foster a deeper understanding of the current and historical, cultural, social and economic experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Canada. Grants are worth up to $25,000 and all synthesis reports must be completed by May 2017. The deadline to submit a proposal is September 13. PhD scholarship opportunity

As part of the research project «Mobilités et trajectoires migratoires au Canada » at Laval University, a PhD grant is available to a young researcher who is interested in pursuing his or her postgraduate study with the Longitudinal Immigration Database (IMDB). Candidates must hold a master in sociology, in demography or in a related discipline, be fluent in French, and be fully knowledgeable about statistical methods to analyze longitudinal data. The deadline to submit your candidacy is June 24.
