Biospecimens available for research purposes

Since 2007, the Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS) is collecting key information relevant to the health of Canadians not only through household interviews, but also by means of direct physical measurements and by collecting small amounts of blood, urine and DNA samples from consenting participants. The CHMS’s collection now amounts to hundreds of thousands of small test tubes of biospecimens available for research purposes. Researchers interested in working with the biobank can visit the program’s website. This guide and brief video also provide helpful information about the project and the access procedure.
